I live in Connecticut but feel Boston is my city so this caught my interest. I just happened across this John B. Russell seed catalog in Google Books. I didn't find a better copy anywhere, so I'll share what I have with you.
I did find a few ads that Russell placed in the New England Farmer paper when he was looking for farmers to hire to run his seed farms.
This is interesting - its from the catalog. Russell seems to be an active wheeler dealer! He was the publisher for the The New England Farmer newspaper as well.
And, he sold Squirting Cucumbers!!!
